Environmental Fellows Program (EFP)
The Environmental Fellows Program (EFP) is a national summer program that seeks to diversify the environmental field, with a particular focus on the environmental and conservation philanthropic sector, by supporting the career aspirations of graduate students from traditionally underrepresented groups. We are seeking graduate and doctoral student applicants who are committed to pursuing environmental careers, who have an interest in learning about environmental philanthropy, as well as a passion and commitment to building a more equitable and inclusive environmental workforce. EFP focuses on supporting diversity, equity and inclusion in environmental philanthropy and the environmental field more broadly. Work done in environmental non-profits and non-governmental organizations, as well as funding decisions made in philanthropic organizations, have significant impacts on the health and wellbeing of our natural and built environments and the human communities living therein.
The Environmental Fellows Program supports the career development of a new generation of environmental leaders and decision makers in the environmental field and environmental philanthropy. Fellows will build new skills and expand social networks that enhance their career portfolios through on-site mentoring, pre-program career development and diversity workshops and by attending the annual Environmental Grantmakers Association retreat. Through these experiences Fellows will expand their understanding of the research and decision making processes that guide foundation giving. Additionally, Fellows will benefit from being exposed to a variety of career opportunities available in the environmental field. Partner organizations benefit from the ideas of highly motivated, energetic Fellows who can assist with new or existing projects.
We look forward to hearing from you!
